Injuries open up some clear value tonight:
-Miami missing Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson leaves a massive playmaking hole tonight. Josh Richardson got 20 shots up playing point guard last game and his shots and assist numbers should make him exceed his expected value easily. James Johnson passed out seven assists in the Heats last game under these circumstances and should chip in strong numbers across all five stats again tonight. Wayne Ellington is the third good value in Miami but I elected to take Johnson over him.
-Jimmy Butler leads the Timberwolves in both minutes and shot attempts so his absence opens up a lot for the Wolves. Andrew Wiggins got up 21 shots without him last game and Marcus Georges-Hunt got up ten in 29 minutes. Both should take the opportunity provided to exceed value again tonight.
-Kris Dunn being out provides a showcase for the Bulls to display Jerian Grant for trade. Grant will get another good matchup in the starting point guard spot and is a very easy selection for under 5k, as he should contribute strong numbers across four stats in over 30 minutes tonight.
-Khris Middleton has looked like an All-Stat when Giannis Antetokounmpo has sat. 24-14-10 last game and he has an even better matchup tonight. Eric Bledsoe is also in a good spot against his former team but the return of Malcolm Brogdon could help limit his upside somewhat.
-Dario Saric has seen a minute and usage boost without JJ Redick on the floor. Jerryd Bayless will also be out tonight, ensuring that the 76ers regulars will see heavy run. Saric is a safe bet for 30 tonight with upside for more.
-Devin Booker is the only guy who isn’t a direct beneficiary of a teammates injury tonight. His usage has been off the charts of late however, suggesting he may be making a push for an All-Star selection. I’ll take him if he’s in more of a playmaking role and getting another 20 shots up like he has been lately.
